We are all about the iBeacon and any other technology that works in the same manner.  I can see where shoppers may be wary of it at first, but it has the power to be so much more efficient than plain jane loyalty programs and Groupon/Living Social/etc type promotions.  Your data is already out there, already being used in ways you never knew existed and certainly didn’t think you opted into, so you might as well get something good out of it.
