Connect Mobile Innovation Summit was held in Chicago last week, and beacons were a panel topic addressed by the organizers.
I’ll make a slight correction in advance of anyone clicking through to read the article –
this part – “Customers must have downloaded an app able to communicate with beacon signals, and the customers’ Bluetooth, location services and push notifications must be enabled on their devices for data to transmit.” –
– while technically correct, fails to take into account that Apple’s Passbook is pre-loaded onto all Apple phones using iOS6 and higher (which means ALL iPhones these days), so Apple owners DO NOT have
