Tomorrow’s the official first day of CES, and while we would really have loved to join the madding throng in Vegas expensing well over the rack rate for so-so hotel rooms, thirty minute cab lines and two hour room service so we too could Tweet about how much we love this curved screen and adore that 4k tv, we decided to go to Hawaii instead.  Or Canada in Hazel’s case, but she is Canadian so that kind of makes sense, even though it’s January and colder than all get out there!

I’m going to do a first day wrap (in two parts) of the early bird specials that flashed our collective eyeballs with noteworthy news-ness, and probably another mid-week before heading to the airport for a mini vacation where they serve lots of tropical drinks and connectivity is sketchy at best while hiking to green sand beaches and raging waterfalls.

To start things off, ATT has plans to piss off everyone.  Yes, everyone.  From the net neutrality peeps to the companies that can’t afford to sponsor data for the gigs, we’ll see if this one gets enough legs to move…
